I have since been informed that the owner of the company for which I was making the deposit (not my employer) was sent an email complaining about my behavior and asking that I do not return to that branch. I find this disturbing and unprofessional. This only adds to prior problems that I have had with this branch. A few years back a deposit that was put in the night depository by the business owner was “lost.” Each client had to be contacted and asked to reissue checks. The bank manager assured the business owner that if the deposit was found the checks would be returned and not deposited. The deposit was found and several of the checks were deposited. Once again the clients needed to be called and the situation explained. Not long after that a single check from a deposit was missing. I personally met with a bank representative requesting a search for the missing check. Within a couple of days the check was located.

Still wanting to research my theory, I walked into the Downtown Eugene Wells Fargo branch. I presented the check and asked if they could deposit it. The Branch Manager questioned the routing number, to which I showed her the blank check from the same bank from which the check was drawn. When she saw it she quickly deposited the check. She explained that because I had a printed check it was easier for her to override, and clearly said that she would not hesitate anyway because the check was only $98.50. What a difference a branch makes.

One of your tellers loudly announced my balance in front of everyone today. Completely uncalled for / embarrassing to announce private information publicly. I will never be back to this branch. Mark this under the many reasons I'll not be with Wells Fargo very much longer.

While trying to make a deposit for a client the teller questioned one check. The teller asked a gentleman who appeared to be a supervisor or branch manager to review the item in question. I was told that the check could not be deposited because the routing number had a smudge and they couldn’t read it. I just happened to have a blank check in my car with the routing number for the same bank for which that check was drawn. As I was heading to the car the gentleman informed me that it wouldn’t help if I gave them the routing number because everything was electronic and they could not override the system. I asked if he was telling me that I needed to go back to the customer and ask them to reissue a check. He said “Yes.” I could not believe the lack of customer service and inability to make a rational decision. I agreed to let them adjust the deposit amount and return the check to me that they “could not” process. When the transaction was completed I clearly stated, “It’s too bad you work for this bank because this bank is a jerk.” Yes, I could have found a more appropriate way to describe a business that will not allow its employees to serve the customer, but there were too many adjectives from which to choose. When I was asked to repeat myself I stated, “I have had nothing but problems with this bank; nothing but problems.” I was asked my name, shook my head and walked out vowing to myself that I would let anyone and everyone know they should NEVER do business with Wells Fargo.

I went to another bank, a competitor. I presented the check in question and was told that they would not have any problem depositing the check. They had the ability to look up the routing number. And if there was a problem finding the number, they may put a hold on the check for a day or two until the number was found. I was assured that the BANK would research the number in question. What amazing customer service. This bank I will highly recommend.

Great customer service

I don’t expect that the customer service will improve but I would expect that the owner of the business account for which I was trying to make the deposit would be reimbursed for the extra time that it took me to drive out of my way and conduct business at another location. I would also hope that Wells Fargo would review its customer service policies and allow the employees to provide a quality of service that can be found at its competitors.
