Doesn't answer their phone consistently. I know it's not 911, but 20 minutes of ringing? Answer, already! I'm not trying to stay on hold for half an hour for something they won't even fix. Bad job.

Truly appreciate the Eugene Police. They responded as promptly as feasible to an incident today and handled it very professionally. Unfortunate that the Eugene leadership continually appropriates funding for support of infrastructure that increases transient population while stalling needed funding to these fantastic people. Complaints of delays and mishandling have a root problem of staffing, training, and time. They have one of the toughest jobs at lower than adequate pay handling problem situations. Thank you for all you do!!!

I assisted my daughter to report a violation of a restraining order. We decided to drive to the main police station to make it easier to speak to someone in person. It was anything but easy. When we entered the building, it was an extremely unfriendly lobby. There are two steel benches and two plastic chairs. There was a counter with empty windows with signs on windows pointing to the middle open window. There is no one there and no way to ring a bell. We stood there until we were noticed. We spoke with a young and friendly woman who directed us to the red phone on the wall.

What a joke with the opportunity to get some of the criminals off the street and blowing me off Thanks

Save yourself a trip and call in instead of coming into the station.

My daughter spoke with a dispatcher who took her info and said there waa no officer on the premise to help her and she can wait in the lobby until one comes. Mind you, this IS the Eugene Police Department's main HQ. We sat and waited for over an hour. My daughter used the red phone to asked the dispatcher for an ETA. No ETA was given. An officer finally arrived after two hours. He was helpful in assisting my daughter.

So I called the police and was told you are not from here so I will have to call my local police in another state and file a report.

The Eugene police officers we have had contact with have all been unnecessarily arrogant and rude, and have jumped to conclusions rather than taken the time to find out what is really going on. They also make assumptions based on racist and sexist biases. They seem to make no effort to counteract their tendencies to assume that a white person is always the "victim" and a person who is not white is the "aggressor," even when that is not the truth. In the example I am thinking of, they refused to let a person of color answer questions inside his own house, but let his white wife talk inside the house, clearly treating them differently, and they automatically believed the white woman's story without question, treating her husband like a criminal though if they had investigated more and tried to understand the real situation they would find he had done nothing wrong. It is frustrating because even when we complain about these things, nothing is done about it and the police officers continue to defend themselves and justify their behavior, never apologizing or admitting they may have been wrong. The police auditor also has done nothing about our complaints. I think police officers should be held to a much higher standard. They should take time to listen to both parties, not automatically assume that the white person or the woman is always right. We have seen them be rude on other occasions too and act like they think they are above the law.

After traveling through your beautiful city I stoped at a store and my identy was stolen and credit card was used at another local store. So I called the store and talked to a very helpful manager and she told they have video of the person that did this
