Used to love this place. So sad it burned down. I am quite happy that the Eugene civic alliance is planning on turning it into something the community can use again.

CIVIC STADIUM WOULD STILL BE THERE HAD IT HAD NOT BEEN GIVEN TO ECA! If ECA was not given the stadium we would still have a stadium.
ECA INTENDS TO BLOCK ACCESSES TO all 3 NEIGHBORS' PROPERTIES! ECA was not given the Civic Stadium to block 70 year old accesses to neighbors' own properties! 4-J in their instructions for proposals mentions about the neighbors' properties. Except for ECA, all other proposals considered the neighbors! Prior to the fire, ECA designs accommodated two neighbors and blocked another neighbor. Negotiations had begun to settle this issue with the one blocked property. But after the fire, the owner of ECA decided to quietly block all three properties and not continue with any negotiations! ECA would not even communicate with the affected neighbors about this! ECA would not even return calls to attorneys! The owner OF ECA even blocked neighbors from making comments on the ECA Facebook page!
EUGENE CIVIC ALLIANCE INVITED THE ARSON OF CIVIC STADIUM! Immediately after procuring the stadium, ECA totally abandoned the stadium and left it totally unsecured and wide open! All the tunnel doors were wide open 24/7! Prior to and up to the fire, ECA ignored emails sent to them about the overnight characters and usage of the parking lot as an overnight jamboree of travelers, transients, some homeless and an array of others! It was a circus day and night! A lot of bicycles were in that parking lot day and night.
Was an iconic baseball stadium. Has since burnt to the ground after a long back and forth to preserve the history or turn it into a shopping center
I went to ball games there as a child and took my own kids. Today it is currently engulfed in flames. Sad day for those who love Cuvic Stadium.
The primary reason ECA was given the stadium was to restore the stadium, not to leave it wide open and totally unsecured - inviting vandalism - inviting the fire!
