I'm guessing new ownership? This place went backwards and I won't be back...very disappointed in the food and the cheap remodel. This place used to be a nice comfortable establishment with quality food. A place I could go on date night or with family and guarantee some tasty fresh food, but my fish tacos were so bland that I had a hard time even eating them, it was one of the worst fish tacos I've ever had in my life, my husband was not impressed with his burger at all and the fries were luke warm at best. Our lunch companions were not happy with the food they got either and said they won't be back. Also we had our four-year-old with us and we were forced to sit in the back of the bar because the dining room was closed at 1 o'clock pm and while it says children are welcome we only had two choices on where to sit... Very disappointed, this used to be a nice place. I don't recommend.
Just happened to pass by after returning a bike rental on our way back to the campus on for and it looked good so we decided to have lunch. The food was spectacular! The cocktails and beer selection were expansive, delicious, and well thought. The staff was very friendly. Great sports on the TVs. The price was reasonable and the atmosphere was not what I'd expect from its outside facade... chic black leather booths (very comfortable), small arcade and a beautiful bar. Very high class in appearance but I felt at home in my jeans and t shirt. I know where to get a great burger and brew the next time I'm in Eugene.
Burger was amazing. Gluten free friendly. Prices were very reasonable.
I ordered the daily special to go at 6th St., Grill and they waited until they brought me my order and Bill to tell me that the special price didn’t apply on to go orders. So I paid full price and when I got home realized that the side orders that were advertised on the menu were not included in my order either. The service was really great. That’s the reason I’m giving two stars instead of one. The bartenders are nice and attentive. However, I did not get that to go order I paid for.
It was our go to place for good beer and great eats. The daily specials are good and usually even when understaffed the wait staff hustle and try to make it right. But when they fail, they fail hard! And during football season they tend to fail hard. On our last visit we sat in the dining area for brunch. We got coffee and waited 33 minutes (yeah I timed it I'm a geek) and our waitress fiddled with settings on nearby tables, walked by twice and never made eye contact or even offered to refill our coffee. We left $3 on the table and walked out. When they have the better quality brunch menu back (apparently not during football season either) we may give it another shot. This could and should be a 4.5 or better rated eatery. The food is exceptional for a bar, the prices are fair, the atmosphere is great but the hit and miss nature of service says manager needs to be on the floor not in the office til consistency in service is part of the culture. I'm cautiously optimistic but based on other piers' reviews, not holding my breath. With that said, if you hit an on day, you score. Hit an off day and you'll walk out too.
