The last book superstore. This one is located adjacent but not adjoining Valley River Center. That makes it a convenient place to pass time without it being super busy. The cafe features Starbucks Coffee and is quite comfortable. Benn WiFi is usually good. The Nook app put out by this company is excellent. If you think Amazon has the E-reader market locked up, think again.
After a dinner date with my wife we decide to go to Barnes and Noble to get some coffee and look through some books.
I love this place! The staff is amazing, the cafe food is delicious, and the book selection is fantastic. I almost always find what I'm looking for or the booksellers get it ordered in for me.
The lemon cake we ordered was rubbery, and we asked for a different piece, which at this point you could imagine took a lot of courage.
They did exchange lemon cake, as they unceremoniously throw the other one in the trash in a dramatic fashion.
The request was follow by a barrage of eye rolling, huffing and puffing, and questioning, "well...what's wrong with it?!"
Huge store with coffee cafe, 50% off table in the back near cookbooks, there was a big family & community event going on with really nice live music which brought in a great group of kids & adults wandering about their large selection.
Upon arriving at the cafe we are warmly greeted with a chorus of, "what do you want?" Followed by a stare that would make Lord Voldemort proud.
With so many other great places in Eugene to get coffee do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
In an attempt to move past the rude moment we smile and place our orders. Our words decorated with all the kind please and thank yous one would expect. Unfortunately these were never reciprocated by our Baristas, who I believe may have held ranks among the Death Eaters.
Pretty good. Helpful and friendly staff. Not the best selection. Conservative...
