Usually a HF is a positive place to shop- my experience today was more like a skeezy drag.
I am usually a big 5-star fan of Harbor Freights; however the one and only time I went to this one was a bit of a disappointment.
Seemed like the clerks here are encouraged or pressured into hard selling Warranties.
1b) U buy it- U suck it!" policy:
CONCLUSION:
2) Hard selling the Warranties:
2b) Hard selling the Warranties:
NOTE: The NO RETURNS might have been because someone might put gas or chemicals in the water sprayer; however the thing is- the device is made just for water- it was not designed for chemicals or fuel. Regardless- no explanation beyond being informed NO REFUNDS!
Did nt cone by expectations
So... I thought that that was a weird/crappy policy. Seriously like WTF!?!
3) 20% off coupon not valid on "sale" items. The funny thing here is some stores allow the weekend 20% off coupon to be used on almost anything, and some like the Eugene Harbor Freight are firm fisted limiting discounts. Again the Eugene Harbor Freight also refuses to allow returns after a customer removes tape to look at an item just purchased.
Harbor Freight's return policy reads something like anything can be returned 90 days after purchase with the receipt; however Harbor Freight also totally negates this buy protection by also stating that a manager can refuse a refund for any reason. So... I am wondering if the Eugene Harbor Freight just decides on a whim, that "sale" items cannot be returned.
Great prices for decent stuff. Their sales are always the same as reflected in their low prices. Some stuff is great quality and other stuff is not. Do your homework before you buy. Great location in a small island strip mall. Friendly staff. Lots of parking
The tools are junk for the most part. Staff is good. Sure they hear about the poor quality tools often
ISSUES:
I Love Harbor Freight's BUT not feeling the love at Eugene's HF.
I bought an item on sale (4-gallon sprayer backpack) and was told "After you open this (the sprayer/backpack box) you cannot return it for any reason." Seemed like an odd "U buy it- U suck it!" policy,l
You get what you pay for. Yes, it's cheap stuff made from China, but the employees are incredibly nice and always helpful. I went in there to buy 2 shovels(have to go visit Grandma soon) and I was in and out within 4 minutes 39 seconds.
An elderly senior checking out in front of me, and the clerk pushed it stating something like "OK... after 90 days you cannot return this item for any reason..." This made the ladybunsure and she wavered, but her son told her tobskip it. It I am not a fan of this sales tactic- it reminds me of long ago being annoyed by pushy Circuit City clerks trying to crazy upsell every purchase.
1) xxx NO REFUNDS misinformation
