Company doesn't respond to emails concerning how the tenants can pay their final bills (thanks Amanda for responding to me), they charge ridiculous fees but won't break down their costs in how they were spent (over $500 in various cleaning expenses when our house wasn't left dirty), and their online system DOES NOT work well. Trust me, i've tried three times. Just moved out of the state and couldn't be happier. This rental company is terrible. Any response they leave under this will be to cover their own behinds, as I've emailed them multiple times with no response. It's clear they don't care about their tenants, just the money.
Do not rent with this company. I've lived in one of their apartments for 3 years now, never missed rent, and now they are serving me with a Termination of Tenancy without Cause (which I literally cannot believe is legal in the state of Oregon, call your senators) while I'm 9 months pregnant. My husband and I have both talked to them about the situation as I'm supposed to give birth any time in the next couple weeks and then have been advised to have 3 weeks of bed rest, but they have basically told us that the conversation is over and they do not need to give us a reason why they're terminating our tenancy and so will not nor will they give us an extension so that I can rest after, again, literally pushing a baby out of my body.
Don't rent with Bell!! They are an awful company. I had a horrible time living at my place, because of them. The house was dirty and falling apart when I moved in. My house looked as though it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned or properly taken care of in years. There were major foundation problems, as well as mold and an ant infestation. It took weeks to get hold of anyone in the office that could help with anything. It was so exhausting trying to get any help from them that I eventually gave up. At the end of the year, they attempted to charge my roommates and I over $1000 in cleaning fees for a spotless house, that was much cleaner than when I moved in. The man I have emailed with about this was completely rude and unprofessional, to the point of attempting to belittle me. Bell Real Estate is an awful company that abuses their tenants, as they know they are young adults living on their own for the first time. They use this information to up charge their tenants for simple cleaning fees, because many tenants may not know this or will give up fighting for their right to their money. It was a complete disappointment living here. I will never rent will Bell again.
Don't rent with them. Save yourself thousands.
I would put zero if it was an option. This company robs from you! Giving you close to nothing back in your security deposit, over a month after you move out. Charging us $40 an hour for cleaning, submitting to $144, as if it takes over 3 hours to clean a 400 sq ft apartment. On top of that outrageous charge, we were also charged outrageous prices for carpet cleaning in the one bedroom and blind cleaning, although I cleaned everything until spotless when we moved out. If you rent from them, take detailed pictures when you move in and move out, as to prove that these charges are false!
I will never forget how they treated me. Their website went down on the day rent was due so I paid it the next day when it was working. I called and asked them to forgive the fee because of the error, the rep agreed. After I moved out, the front desk person demanded the funds in a wholly rude manner.
In addition to this, Bell has been rude and unhelpful with both sets of roommates we've had. They were rude to the companies calling them on our roommates' behalves when our roommates needed to move. And any time we needed something fixed, we got a half-measure that did not hold up. This company is awful to work with and heartless to boot. Don't get yourself into this situation if you can possibly avoid it.
Update 10/20/17: Bell has now brought new prospective tenants into our home with our 5 day old baby. If you don't know, doctors suggest every person who is around a newborn get a whooping cough vaccine first. We aren't even supposed to be out until 12/1/17 and they are AGAIN putting our baby at risk.
I would like to specifically call out Amanda and Brian for abusing students and treated me awfully. I hope they lose their jobs.
Update 10/4/17: Our apartment has been listed online for $90 more a month. They are putting the health of me AND my soon to be newborn child in danger for $90/month that they never asked us for.
