The electrician called at the time of our appointment to say he was half an hour late for the first appointment of the day. We had arranged our day to accommodate this appointment as we both work outside the home. So disappointing. Management thought this was totally normal and reasonable.
We had an emergency repair required. The people at Contractors Electric went out of their way to fit this repair into their busy schedule.
Also, I want to take the time to commend Wes (the electrician) for the terrific job he did. He handled the work in a professional, competent, knowledgeable manner. His demeanor and attitude is very pleasant. Overall, he represented Contractors Electric in an exemplary way.
Worst experience ever AND I have known the owners for 8 years. I even called Steven twice before posting this asking him to give me any excuse to not do this. He never replied. 1. They missed their first appointment and said they were only 10 minutes late. I left the house 40 minutes after the 7:30 am appointment. 2. The Electrician was very dry and grumpy 3. They charged me 8 man hours to hook up a hot tub that already a cutoff switch located near hookup location. (confirmed by his colleges this was VERY excessive should have been 1 hour 2 MAX) (Technician that fixed it and another electrician both saw the job) 4. The hot tub did not work and it was found by the manufacturer and technician that fix the faulty install it was wired incorrectly and the technician said this was "grossly incompetent" 5. Steven said he would stand by the work but when questioned about it he said everyone was lying to me and the work was done correctly. He said it was impossible they did it wrong. 6. I pressed him about the 8 hours (I already paid the bill) he said it was because he sent an apprentice only because he needed 2 on the next job. Normally he would have just sent one. And it took 8 hours because they had to move the tub out from the wall. WOW! 8 hours to move an empty tub about 1 foot? The expert that fixed the tub said it would have taken him 40 minutes but he would have billed me for an hour. 7. Steven reluctantly said he would refund the apprentice hours but here I almost 2 weeks later no check for the overcharge. Steven called it free labor. 8. The other owners wife, Rita Brown posted a 1 star review on my business website. When questioned how we could have done better she replied that we need to follow through with our agreements. Hmmmm??? lets see. I paid the bill and complained about the sub standard product and service and I get attacked? please refer to item #7 and think of following through with agreements! This was an issue between Me and Contractors electric not my business. That was just unexceptionable behavior. I have read some of the other contractors electric negative reviews and I do see a theme. They dont respond to criticism well if at all. Also talking to an owner of a major contractor in the area I learned they will not use them for lack of communication also. I see lots of 5 star reviews but if you decide to use the guys I hope you have a better experience than I did and I hope they do it correct the first time because they wont fix it. All my irritation and Stevens irritation could have been avoid at MANY steps along the way. Step 1. Steven could have come out to correct the issue as soon as I said it wasnt working. Instead he let it take its coarse and let some one else fix it. step 2. When asked about the excessive hours to do what seemed a simple job. Respond quicker than 20 days and 3 requests on my part for an answer. step 3. NEVER say never. Steven said it was impossible they hooked it up wrong and said that the technician that fixed the issue was lying to me. That was just weird. step 4. As a business owner I some times side with the customer and take care of them even when it appears to me they are wrong. But the trick is to not let the customer know I think they were wrong. I do truly appreciate their business . Just take care of them and they will take care of us. Step 5. Steven could have called me and had the pleasant conversation I promised. I really didnt want to write this review and wanted him to give me any reason not to.
Showed up on time, the service rep was professional and fixed the problem quickly. Every step of the process from point of contact through billing has been easy and all of their employee's have been friendly. Highly recommend their service.
Five stars for Contractors Electric - our project posed a bit of an extra hurdle as we needed some re-wiring done in a house on a concrete slab with NO attic space. Despite the added degree of difficulty, John and the guys at Contractors Electric got it done and we couldn't be happier! Great service, quality work, and they won't gouge your wallet (despite needing to come back a few extra times and use all of their ingenuity in fixing our issue!). These guys know their stuff, so if you have an electrical issue, do yourself a favor and hire the right guys to fix it the first time.
