Last but certainly not least is their beautiful deli and sandwich shop, there just are none better anywhere in Eugene or Springfield.
Great selection of food in Eugene, but I just had an unfortunate experience with a staff member. I was quite rudely rushed out after arriving about 5 min before close. Usually, most any grocery store allows anyone in the door by close to at least finish shopping. Maybe you're asked—and usually asked nicely, I might add—"Do you need help finding anything?" Not this staff member. "You need to LEAVE!" was what I received before I had to ask THEM for assistance in finding items in a store I'd only ever been in one other time. Rushed, I was out the door and in my car by 10min post-close, sans a number of important items I needed. My first experience at Kiva was a 5. This time a 0. I'd give a 2.5, to average the two experiences out, but I 've rounded it down to 2 because of the bad taste in my mouth at this moment.
Well stocked shelves, not bad prices a little high; but they are so convenient. Plus the fact that they have quality vegies and fruit and all products are quality brands.
Amazing variety for a relatively small space. Well stocked and well curated. Best cheese selection I've come across in Eugene. And the deli sandwiches are premium quality at a reasonable price. Nice assortment of loose leaf teas and bulk spices. Classic Eugene vibes, highly recommended
I always love the selection of produce, and the body care aisle is my heaven. In the past I have always found the cashiers to be friendly and sweet, but unfortunately recently I have noticed that they aren't as nice. I stopped in with my kid on Saturday and we made two small purchases (had to go back for something I forgot), and the cashier that served me both times was very unfriendly.l towards me. She seemed more interested in chatting with the other cashier. I don't expect to be treated like royalty, but I do choose to shop at smaller local stores because it feels more personal. As I said, this isn't a one off, and for the time being it won't affect my decision to spend my money here, for the time being at least. Hopefully my next visit will be better.
I love coming to this store. The chefs in the kitchen have it DOWN. I'm always interested in what they do with kale or beets and the cashew curry chicken is insane. Be picky with the produce for the freshest, but good finds overall. Sweet people, nice books and fun novelties.
The service at Kiva is amazing. Even if you need help and its very busy the customers themselves help if they can. I feel its because at Kiva your treated by employees like your the only customer in the store that kind of kindness flows through to the customers.
