It's gonna get better. It's under new management. The city did NOT do a good job of taking care of it. I will update when the improvements have been made.
The Park is well kept, quiet and large. It has many places to simply sit and enjoy the scenery or just relax and listen to the miriad ducks and geese squabble. The trails are appropriate for biking but wide enough that it's safe and stress free to mosey. There are tables for sitting and both natural and manicured isthmus about the park from which you can dangle your feet in the water. There are shallow places in which to wade and open areas where it is easy to keep track of children. Covered areas around the park afford shade and outdoor party venues. Beautiful park.
Great place to go for a walk or run try the Pre's trail even lit at night though not recommended. Beautiful park lots to see and enjoy. FREE!
This is one of the nicest parks in Eugene. There is a very nice duck pond and a small river that runs through it and the park where you can fish for trout. There is a lot of paths to walk with river views and art to look at. Especially nice is the foot bridge over the river and the views it affords. Also a great place for a picnic, rain or shine as there is a large covered area with picnic tables. There's also a lot of parking.
It's gotten better! A volunteer has taken it upon himself to level several the pads by himself. Pin positions haven't been moved for a while. But it's good to have some originals back. Pay the three bucks and go out and play! The only full 18 in the city proper. And, it isn't laden with mud and swamp.
11/21/17: Update
A wonderful city park. Rent a canoe or bring your own to float the canoe canal. I've seen geese ducks, herons, turtles, red fox, beaver, nutria, etc. Fish for trout. Play Frisbee golf on a great course. Enjoy excellent running trails, walking and bike trails along the Willamette river and a large dog park among many other available activities this park is gateway to. If you feed the ducks and pigeons at the sick pond PLEASE do not feed bread or popcorn. It is detrimental to their health. Instead purchase a quality waterfowl feed from a local feed store or just enjoy watching them eating naturally.
