Would be a great park if there were more locals and families hanging there instead of crack heads (using "crack head" as a loose term here). Yes, I know... The crack heads are locals too, but at the time I'm writing this Eugene has a problem... The country has a problem... Opioids, and other drugs. It's getting ugly and frustrating to be around. I'd love to help with love but at this point I'm just starting to wish they were gone. They're all over my neighborhood and leave needles around.
All in all a nice park, with friendly people all over.
Very well put together park, one of the more busy parks in town, right down the road from downtown. Allowed to bring your pups, (dog friendly). Awesome art installation, swings, playground, some basketball courts,and even a some trees to hammock in if that's your thing.
Lots of homeless people and drugs. Stay away from the bushes, found needles. You can smell weed everywhere. My daughter loves the play equipment but just not the best environment for kids.
It's in a great location right near downtown and the whiteaker neighborhood. Unfortunately there's much drug use and the rest rooms are locked. The smell of weed is everywhere. There was a group of people huffing nitrous balloons on a bench yesterday, in plain view.
Beautiful park! Well designed, has a nice park, and is located in an area with tons of trees surrounding it. Fantastic for picnics, walks, or just a quiet place to think or just have a place to hang out. :) highly recommend!
