After years of worsening pain Dr. Keiper and his staff took tender care of my wife who needed a procedure to remove debris that had lodged next to her spinal cord, they also removed the damaged disc and fused the vertebra at the same time.
Keiper and his staff were very friendly, informative and helpful. And everyone we've known that has used him has had a similar experience. He's the man!!!
We now can again go dancing and take walks on a soft sandy beaches.

Dr Keiper performed a microdistectomy S1-L5 on my wife to relieve pressure from a bulging disc. She was in an enormous amount of constant pain for months. My sweetie is a second grade teacher and when we saw Keiper there were only about 3 weeks left before school started. He was able to fit her in his surgery schedule within a week - which was amazing. It's usually months of waiting.
I am two days post-op from an L5 L4 herniated disc surgery. Dr. Kieper was wonderful surgeon and his surgery center was a wonderful place. He has taking me out of acute pain with his wonderful surgical skills. His nursing staff his assistant Ralph everybody was just really wonderful. Dr. Kieper himself was compassionate caring doctor I highly recommend him!
If I could give them a lower than one rating I would! Dr. Sherman left me crippled for the rest of my life!!! Now I am on pain medication, nerve medication, a spine stimulator, an AFO brace because my leg that was perfectly healthy before my surgery now collapses and I walk with arm crutches or a walker or in some cases I will use a wheel chair. After my nerve conduction test was done to tell us what happened during surgery, it stated I was left with a ruptured L-5 nerve. Right after surgery my left leg was paralyzed and Dr. Sherman flew off to Paris, how nice. He got a vacation I got a blood clot. He tasted new food I tasted new medication and got accustomed to wearing all my hardware. PLEASE do your research before making such an important decision as I did about having back fusion and make sure your doctor is up to the task. I also found out that I may not have needed the surgery after all. I found out there were others out there just like me that had gone to same doctor almost same procedure or a little different and had horrible outcome. One good thing came out of this whole nightmare was that I did get my faith with my Lord Jesus Christ became stronger. I called on Him, I leaned on Him, I yelled out for Him, the pain was so intense when the nerve was trying and I do mean trying because it actually never grows back the way it suppose to; the pain is so horrendous that you just want to die. HE answered, Yes God answered and helped me find a great pain clinic Neuro-Spine has a fabulous pain doctor and PA Dr. Phillips and Mark Wells that gave me a life I can live with. I live in pain 24/7 but it is manageable with pills every 4 hours and a spinal stimulator. So make sure you research your surgeon no matter what type of surgery and make sure your doctor is qualified and good and is highly recommended. Who cares about bedside manners that doesn't get the job done great surgeon gets the job done. Also make sure your faith is in tact because you will need it especially if your surgery is botched like mine was!!! Thank you Jesus for answered prayers!!!
The surgery was performed in his outpatient clinic, with the operation in the morning and home in the afternoon. Her pain was immediately relieved and she felt sooooo much better. She started back to work but after a few days needed to cut back to half time. She was very tired dealing with 30 seven year olds.
We saw Dr Sherman who is very friendly and straight forward. My husband had a dissectomy of his L5/S1 disc that was completely pinching the sciatic nerve to the spine. His staff is amazing and went above and beyond in dealing with our insurance and obtaining proper forms and reports from our previous physician who is out of state. When Dr Sherman saw the new MRI he scheduled my husband for surgery within 2 weeks. The surgery only took 40min and so far only 3 days out of surgery and the horrible pain in his back and down his leg from the disc compression is gone. The only pain he has is the pain from the surgery which will get better with each passing day. We would totally recommend Dr Sherman!!
Not an exaggeration, we walked out of the Spine Center the very same day, after weeks of the proper rehab we realized our greatest hopes were coming true, the constant ache and leg numbing pain was gone.
